Alison's aim is to create abstract paintings that are contemplative and evocative. Her use of blended colors and her tools on canvas tend to give her work an atmospheric effect. It is intentional. Through the view of contrasting soft and dark colors she wants the viewer to stay awhile. Look within. Her body of work is representative of her paths in life, which is inspired by her adventures, independence, love of color and natural surroundings.
I travel as much as I can. Mainly to relax while taking photographs of what inspires me. A lot of landscapes peek my attention. I recently went to San Fransisco and discovered Muir Woods! I just wanted to stay there forever and cuddle up next to the Sequoias. And where I live in Bucks County, PA there is plenty of beautiful places to photograph. Like Tyler Park, Peaceful Valley, PA and further north, The Poconos and Bush Kill Falls. Of course through the years landscapes in New Mexico, Arizona, Upstate NY, and even in Portugal, Spain and China. I hope you enjoy the photos below. I am often take walks to feel joy, peace, and love. That all comes when sitting by a tree, on the grass, tilting my head to the sun, listening to ocean waves and so much more when just being quiet.
